Hi All,

We decide to maintain the DSView repo(https://github.com/DreamSourceLab/DSView) on github with a standard model.
Following is the whole picture of this model

The details about this model can be found out at: http://nvie.com/posts/a-successful-git-branching-model/

Thanks.

I don't think that using additional branch for development is a great idea. The common practice is to use 'master' for normal day-to-day development and optional 'release-FOO' for release freezes. That's it.

In the picture above branches 'develop' and 'hotfixes' are redundant. It makes unneeded complications to the development process.

Just to refrain what I said. Please do not use a random guy from internet blogpost as a measure of the best development practices. Better check at branching/development model of Linux kernel project (those who created git) or at development of git project itself. They know much better what is "good development practice with git" is.
