Data export

Topics about DSLogic software development
Is there a possibility to export the captured data to some more easily readable format like csv or vcd?
The zipped *.dsl binary format is not so intuitive to import in other programs.

Could you please explain how it is possible?
I can't find a way to export the data from the DSLogic Software v0.3.

Hi Rainer,

Current version only support binary version.
But don't forget that DSLogic is based on sigrok. csv and vcd format are supported by sigrok. We will add these features into DSLogic.

So... V0.4 did not bring this feature. As no new software is announced, I played around with the format a bit. To get to the data, do the following steps:
- Rename your captured file "whatever.dsl" to "whatever.zip"
- Winzip or similar should now be able to extract the data, called "header" and "data"
- "Header" shows you in clear text how many channels were captured at which rate. In my case 16 channels and 20MHz.
- "capturesize" shows how many bytes were one measurement. At 20MHz, we have 20.000 measurements per second, each expressed in two bytes. No timestamp or so found or needed in the file.
- One measurement is shown in the HEX Editor as "F1 01", or binary 1111 0001 0000 0001. This describes, which port is high and which one is low.
- Due to unknown reasons, the Bits do not seem to be in the "right" order:
- 1111 is probably Pin/Probe 7, 6, 5, 4
- 0001 is probably Pin/Probe 3, 2, 1, 0
- 0000 is probably Pin/Probe 15, 14, 13, 12
- 0001 is probably Pin/Probe 11, 10, 9, 8

With this knowledge, everybody should be able to write his own converter!

It would still be nice to have an export option with a text like format and not only binary. :?
